ASAE’s January 2026 Insight Update examines how associations managed staffing over the past year and how they are planning for the next 6–9 months. Despite broader labor market uncertainty, association staffing remained largely stable, reflecting cautious and resilient workforce strategies. Staffing changes were targeted, with growth concentrated in engagement, membership, and learning functions, and continued investment in entry-level roles, while mid-level positions faced the greatest pressure when reductions occurred. As an apolitical and non-partisan organization, ASAE remains committed to sharing these insights to help association leaders adapt and thrive.
