A collaborative effort between BoardSource and the ASAE Research Foundation, this downloadable e-Report is on organizations which had self-selected to assess their board performance. More than 1,300 individuals serving 75 membership organizations responded to the survey. The report seeks to answer the following questions:
- What organization characteristics influence the individual’s satisfaction with board service?
- What organization characteristics influence the individual’s perception of board performance in the nine areas of responsibility covered in the board self-assessment?
- How does the individual’s role (chair, board member) affect the individual board members’ perception of board effectiveness?
Numerous tables and charts add to the analysis of the researchers to provide an enlightening resource for those involved in the governance of their organization.
