Description
This five-report series presents findings from an ASAE Research Foundation study on the business-innovation readiness of healthcare associations. It also outlines the foundational logic behind the maturity model used in the research. The study was conducted by Association Business Ventures, which examined association acuity across eight performance domains identified by AVI as critical to business-venture innovation.
The maturity model includes the following eight domains:
- Operational agility
- Foresight governance
- Collective purpose
- Digital practices
- Engaged ecosystems
- Empowerment culture
- Catalytic leadership
- Diverse Talent
The first report, Advancing Business-Venture Innovation: A Readiness Tool for Health Associations, provides an overview of the research effort. Four additional readiness reports will explore the eight domains in pairs, offering association leaders the opportunity to self-assess and score their organization’s readiness. Together, these reports aim to equip leaders with a strategic mindset and practical tools for organizational change—such as using readiness diagnostics to identify and overcome barriers to business innovation.
Although the research focused on healthcare associations, the baseline measurements, pathways, and tools are applicable to executives across all types of associations seeking to strengthen their business-development capacity.
